Opium is one of the true classics from the House of Yves Saint Laurent. With the Black Opium Eau de Parfum Spray, this classic has now found a worthy successor. The perfume arouses curiosity at very first glance. The soft rose-coloured label immediately catches your eye on the deep black flacon furnished with a touch of glitter, and the contrast is not just optical either. While the flacon’s black surface is rather rough and reminiscent of sand polish, the label is soft and smooth. It arouses veritable curiosity as to whether the fragrance also contains such wonderfully contrasting elements. The top note of Black Opium appears with pink pepper and orange blossoms, which are briefly but strongly presented. Immediately afterwards, the coffee aroma combined with sweet jasmine appears, which gives the Eau de Parfum Spray a tart, yet pleasant direction. The perfume by Yves Saint Laurent then becomes strong and sweet in the base note again as well, where the soft and creamy vanilla is enmeshed by cedar and patchouli, thus giving the perfume its very own direction.
